Here’s why you can feel comfortable shopping at The Lamplighter
Co-owners Michael and Kathleen Cleary have been small business owners since 1986. They underdstand the customer’s satisfaction drives the success of any business.
They want you to be happy with your lighting purchases. The quality of their lighting products is guaranteed and they’ll cheerfully accept returns of your in-store purchases if you find it was a ‘mis-fit.’
Michael is happy to give an estimate for any lamp or lighting fixture repair you may have.
Small business background is customer-centric.
Michael is a trained chef and fulfilled a life-long dream of restaurant ownership when he and Kathleen purchased the Cork 'n Hearth Restaurant in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts in 1986. This satisfied Kathleen's desire to raise their children in 'sophisticated country.' Kathleen also sold residential real estate with Piretti Real Estate in Lenox for a decade, which helped to enhance her keen sense of decor.
The Clearys sold the restaurant in 1997. They saw the Lamplighter as an opportunity to own another great business in the Berkshires and continue to serve the great people who either live in or visit the beautiful area.
They purchased the Lamplighter in 2001 and enjoy helping solve the lighting needs of the many customers who come to the Lamplighter not only from the Berkshires but the surrounding counties of Litchfield (CT) and Columbia (NY) as well as Boston, New York and the many towns and cities of New England.
Kathleen runs a web writing and Search Optimization business as well. She is also the author of a heartwarming, humorous and inspirational biography about one of Boston's most legendary bartenders, "If This Is Heaven, I Am Going to be a Good Boy," the Tommy Leonard Story.
